May 3rd - Finally got this side of the Sea Serpent sculpted, am about a third of the way done with the other side. Hoping that this will be done soon as I'm itching to get started on the painting that goes along with it.
April 26th - I missed a post last week. Death Squealer took an unfortunate / fortunate tumble off of the Bondo portion of the base. It was unfortunate in that it required some re-sculpting and re-engineering, but it was fortunate in that I had done such a lousy job of fastening it down that it was inevitably going to fall and better to have it happen now than after it is cooked and painted. I'm working now to try to integrate the sculpture into the base that I bought at HomeGoods. It still needs a lot of work....
April 12th - I sculpted some fancy armor on his back and then went and covered it all up with the cape. You can still see it if you stand on your head. I felt a little like I did when Bob Ross would paint a giant happy tree over top of everything he had just painted.
A little more progress on this one. I'm going to need to switch out the base when it is done. I needed sonething to hold it temporarily as my fat fingers kept accidentally smooshing things that were almost done.
April 3rd - Just roughed in the upper part of the base. I'm working on the back of the piece, but it's not in any condition to make it worth photographing at this point. I've made a little more progress on the sea serpent. Happy Easter!
March 26th - Just a quick update on Death Squealer. Please excuse the laundry:)

March 20th - Some sculptures for upcoming paintings in progress....
This is probably the kind of thing that would be more appropriate for an art blog. I've been reluctant to start one mostly due to a lack of time and of interesting things to say. My hope is that posting progress shots of these sculptures every week will encourage / shame me to get them finished. They are for a couple upcoming paintings with the working titles Fire Lake and Death Squealer....
I'm actually going to try to finish these sculptures and paint them. Usually, I get them to the point where I can use them as reference for a painting and then they sit around and collect dust. You can see some of these "dust monsters" in the background of the photos. Well, stay tuned for what I am hoping will be some dramatic improvements ;)
